# Subtitle Remover > Erase burned-in subtitles, captions and text watermarks from video with AI that rebuilds the picture behind them, then add translated subtitles in 19 languages. Website: https://subtitleremover.org · Full details for AI assistants: https://subtitleremover.org/llms-full.txt ## How it works 1. Upload a video at https://subtitleremover.org/remove-subtitles (MP4, MOV, MKV and more; up to 10 minutes, 2 GB and 2K). 2. Choose Auto (captions in the lower half are found automatically), Precise (draw boxes over subtitles, text watermarks or names, optionally only during chosen time ranges) or keep the picture as it is. 3. Optionally add translated subtitles: the original captions are read from the picture (OCR) or the audio (speech recognition), translated into one of 19 languages and burned into the cleaned video. 4. Download the clean MP4 (up to 1080p), the subtitled MP4 and SRT files; edit the translated lines and burn them in again if needed. ## Features - Rebuilds the picture behind the text frame by frame instead of blurring or covering it. - Removes hard-coded subtitles, captions, text watermarks (such as usernames), names and other text added on top of the video. - Long videos are split, processed in parallel and joined again automatically. - Translation languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Filipino. - Failed jobs refund their credits automatically; if only the subtitles fail, their part is refunded and the clean video is still delivered. ## Limits - Does not remove graphic logos, icons, stickers or image watermarks that are not text, even when boxed. - Does not remove text that is part of the scene (shop signs, plaques, text printed on products or clothes), people, objects or mosaics. - Auto mode only finds roughly centred subtitles in the lower half of the frame; subtitles elsewhere need Precise mode. - Output is at most 1080p and keeps the original audio; speech recognition for translation supports Chinese and English speech only. ## Pricing - [Credit packs](https://subtitleremover.org/pricing): one-time packs from $4.99. - Auto removal: 1 credit per 1 s of video. Precise removal: 3 credits per 1 s. Translated subtitles: +1 credit per 1 s. ## Guides - [Hardcoded vs. Soft Subtitles: Which Can You Remove?](https://subtitleremover.org/blog/hardcoded-vs-soft-subtitles): Learn how to tell burned-in captions from a separate subtitle track, choose the right removal method, and keep future video exports easy to translate. - [How to Remove Hardcoded Subtitles](https://subtitleremover.org/blog/remove-hardcoded-subtitles): Remove burned-in subtitles without cropping.
